Each month the Legislative Committee
members review, monitor, and propose legislation that benefits Metro
Council members specifically and west Michigan in general. The committee
regularly invites federal and state elected officials to discuss recent
or pending legislation. Representatives from the Michigan Municipal League
and Michigan Townships Association often attend committee meetings to
provide legislative counsel and legislative updates. The committee coordinates
its legislative activities with:

The Legislative Committee typically
meets the second Wednesday of every month from 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM at
the offices of GVMC. Every GVMC member has a seat.
