West Michigan Tool Kit for Local Green InventoriesLocal communities in the Grand Rapids metropolitan area wishing to protect important natural features, now have another tool in their tool box! GVMC and the Land Conservancy of West Michigan have developed a new guideline entitled the “ West Michigan Tool Kit for Local Green Inventories.” Growing interest by local citizens to start protection programs in their own communities led GVMC and LCWM to seek the financial support of People & Land of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the Grand Rapids Community Foundation in hiring Planning & Zoning Center, Inc. to develop the guidebook. If you are interested in initiating a land protection program in your community, this “tool kit” is a great starting point.
