The Transportation sector accounted for 8,011,506 MT of CO₂e emissions in 2024, or 45% of the total emissions in Kent, Ottawa, Ionia and Montcalm counties.

On-road transportation, which includes passenger vehicles (such as sedans and SUVs), delivery vans, buses, heavy-duty trucks, and other vehicles contributed 84% of transportation emissions.

As of 2024, 1% of all personal vehicles registered in the region were electric vehicles.

Off-road emissions also contributed significantly to this sector, including equipment such as forklifts, railroad service equipment, and golf carts.

The remaining 7% of emissions came from rail, water, and aviation, including both passenger and freight.
